LEVEL III COURSE OFFERING

These programs will be offered after the regular A thru D programs (Level I and Level II) are completed.

Following one week modules are designed to provide in-depth experience and hands on knowledge to the participants on the respective subject. An expert ISJS faculty member will guide the participants throughout each module. Participants are free to select more than one module if they so desire. These modules are primarily aimed at senior participants and ISSJS alumni. The schedule /timeline will be decided based on the number of participants registered either separately or in association with one or the above regular programs under category A thru D Standard programs of Level I & II.

ISSJS2011. SA Meditation camp with HH Jain Acarya Dr Shiv Muniji;
ISSJS2011.SB Study of Jain sacred scripture Uttaradhyayan (in Prakrit) considered as a comprehensive and the last sermons of Lord Mahavira.
ISSJS2011.SC Study of Jain sacred scripture Ratna Karand Sravakacara (Sanskrit) by Samant Bhadra, a detailed and authentic exposition of Jain code of conduct for householders.
ISSJS2011.SD Pilgrimage tour of important Jain centers in central India and Rajasthan.

ELIGIBILITY

Program ‘ISSJS2011-3W’:
Senior undergraduates and graduate students registered in a university for the study of religion, south Asian religions or languages, theology, anthropology also University affiliated professors, teaching faculty, PhD scholars and graduates in history, arts, culture, music, education, public health and management or education besides the fields indicated earlier with interest in Jain studies.

Program ‘ISSJS2011-O’: Graduate students and above registered with U of Ottawa course SMS4107.languages, theology, and anthropology.

Program ‘ISSJS2011-M’: Same as ISSJS2011-3W.

Program ‘ISSJS2011-6W’: Graduate students, PhD scholars and teaching faculty registered or affiliated with a university for study, teaching and research in religion, south Asian religions or other related Program

While applying, the applicant must indicate clearly on the application form the stream i.e. ISSJS2011-3W or ISSJS2011-6W etc alongwith level and desired dates for Level III one week programs to which he /she is applying and send to the proper address.

Those interested in attending only one or more short duration programs shown in Level III should also indicate clearly on their applications the dates suitable. Their scheduled dates shall be decided accordingly

To all admitted scholars and students:
Each scholar / student, enrolled for ISJS 2011, irrespective of the program selected, shall pay the following amounts to ISJS Level I & II to partly defray the costs of holding these programs:

ISSJS2011-6W US$ 550
ISSJS 2011-M US$ 100 (To be decided by Mahidol Univ)
