i. The trust is primarily established with the objective of promoting study of Jain philosophy, history, culture, society and literature around the world. It shall undertake lectures and educational programs for scholars and public at large who are interested to study the philosophy of nonviolence and universal brotherhood along with vegetarianism. It shall also facilitate study of Prakrit and Sanskrit languages as most of the original literature and record of Jain philosophy was written in these languages. The trust will provide its services to everyone who is interested without any reference to class or section of the society.

ii. The trust shall also serve as a platform for promoting social and religious harmony in different sections of the society. Time-to-time trust shall undertake programs and projects to promote social equilibrium. The programs and projects can be in the field of promotion and education, technology, information system, creating awareness in any field, financial support to needy, family welfare activities, health facilities, environment protection, prevention of cruelty to animals, development of social harmony or any other subject as the Trustees may decide from time to time.

iii. The activities can be taken up by trust either as its own projects or through joining hands with other established organizations in India and else where in the world.

The trust was incorporated as a non-profit society at Delhi, India and has the tax exemption from all donations under section 80G of Income Tax India. The trust has until now conducted the two International Summer School for Jain Studies in summer of 2005 and 2006 in association with Mahavir Vision Inc, USA.

The main objects of ISSJS is to support a comprehensive, scholarly and experimental introduction of Jain academic studies in the universities around the world and North America in particular. ISSJS implements the program by a process of careful screening of potential scholars, taking them to India for two months of intensive academic studies, social, ritual, pilgrimage, monks interaction to make a Jain live experience. On return from India ISSJS supports these scholars to carry out further research.

Retired IT and management consultant. Lived and traveled extensively in USA, Western Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and India. After having degrees in engineering from Delhi and New York Universities, got MA and PHD degrees in Jainology and comparative religions with certification in Prakrat language. Dedicated to the study, teaching and practice of Jain philosophy, history, culture and way of life since 2002.
   
Dr Sulekh C. Jain   Dr Sulekh C. Jain, Sugar Land, Texas, USA
All along, Dr. Jain has been active in many religious and social activities within the Jain and non-Jain communities in the U.S.A. and Canada. Dr. Jain is Founder /Co-Founder of several organization and institution in North America such as ; Jain Center of Greater Boston(1973), Jain Society of Houston (1981), JAIN DIGEST Magazine(1985), JAINA Library (1988), Young Jains of America(1989), Jain Center of Central Ohio at Columbus (1991), Jain Academic Foundation of North America(1994), Mahavir Vision Inc.(1994), JAIN SPIRIT International Magazine(1999),World Council of Jain Academies (1999) , JVB Preksha Meditation Center in Houston (1999). and International Summer School in Jain Academic Studies (2004). Dr. Jain is the past Secretary and President of Federation of Jain Associations in North America, Jain Society of Houston, Jain Center of Cincinnati/Dayton and several other organizations. Dr. Jain has traveled extensively in India, UK, Europe and Asia, has met many Jain Leaders world over and participated in many seminars. He led a U.S. Jain Delegation to Buckingham Palace in London for a meeting with H.R.H. Duke of Edinburgh in 199o and participated in the parliament of Worlds Religions in Chicago in 1993. Professionally, Dr. Jain has a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. He has taught at several Universities and retired in 1998 from GE Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has nine US and International technical patents and authored nearly 50 technical papers. He is an International consultant in technology and is the President of Material and Manufacturing Technology Solutions Company. He lives in Sugar Land, TX and is a member of the Sugar Land Aviation Advisory Board of the City of Sugar Land.
   
Mr. Swatantar Jain   Mr. Swatantar Jain, Houston, Texas, USA
A fellow member of Institute of Chartered accountant of India. Currently Mr. Jain is Senior Vice President (operations) of Vinmar International Ltd USA Marketing plastics and chemical company worldwide since 1978. He is Director and Treasurer of Pratham USA, Houston. Pratham is an NGO with mission to remove illiteracy from India by year 2010 (every child in school and learning well). Since 2004 Mr. Jain is very involve in International Summer Jain Study program for North American scholars in India. He is chairperson of Jain Vishwa Bharati Houston Inc. Director, Indo American Association Houston. He served as Board Member of Jain Center Of Houston Inc. Mr. Jain resides in Houston, Taxes with his wife Bimla.

MA (Pol Science). Past president of International Women's group Holland, Jain Mahila Milan, Green Park, Ladies Association Panchshel Enclave, Now dedicated to support her husband in teaching Jain philosophy and taking up social causes like girl education, orphanages etc.

IITD graduate with MBA in Management from Insead France. Worked for dowell Schlumberger, own business in high fashion ladies garments. Now studying PhD in management and teaching. Lives in France with his family. Mr. Jain resides in Fontainebleau, France.
   
Mrs. Anita Jain   Mrs. Anita Jain, Switzerland
BA (Econ) from Delhi and MBA, MBI from Rotterdam Scholl of Management Holland. Worked for P &G, Loreal and now Morgan Stanley Switzerland. Lives with her family in Switzerland and actively involved in a number of social organizations to promote East-West cultural harmony.
   
Dr Tansukh J. Salgia   Dr Tansukh J. Salgia, Galena, Ohio, USA
The founder of many Jain and Asian organizations, such as Federation of Jain Association in North America (JAINA), International Mahavira Jain Mission (Sidhhachalam), Jain Society of Greater Cleveland, Mahavir Vision, Asian American Federation of Cleveland, Bramhi Jain Society, and Asian American Service Council (Columbus). Dr Salgia is the founding father of “Jain Digest” a quarterly magazine of JAINA and co-founder and former Director of international quarterly publication “Jain Sprit Magazine”. In 1992-93, Dr. Salgia was liaison for “THE JAINS” at the secretariat of Parliament of World Religions and coordinator of all Jain activities during the Centennial Celebration of the Parliament of World Religions held in Chicago in August-September 1993. He is also listed in Who’s who in the World 1993-1994 and Who’s who in America, 49th edition by Marquis Publications. In 2002, The Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace appointed Dr. Salgia as “Ambassador for peace”. In 1997, Federation of Jain Association conferred upon him the title of “JAIN RATNA” (Jewel of Jain Community) and also in 2006; Mahamastakabhishek NRI Committee conferred a title of “Overseas Samaj Ratna.” In 2003, International Jain Sangh recognized Dr. Salgia for his community services. Dr. Salgia is the council member of Interfaith Association of Central Ohio and Board and executive committee member of Port Columbus Interfaith Services. Dr. Salgia also serves on national board of North American Interfaith Network (NAIN). Dr. Salgia has two sons and two grand children and lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife Bharati.
